BODYWORK

Bodywork

“Embodiment takes into account the phenomenological experience of practitioner and client.” ~ (Clemmens, 2012)

Bodywork is a process that is deeply personal to the practitioner and client. It weaves between the presentation of somatic expressions and within the relationship between bodyworker and client.

Integrity and safety are underlying values for every session and allow for deep processes to take place.

Sometimes safety can be a historical presentation showing up in the present moment. Discussing what’s arising within the sessions supports the body to ease and feel supported with whatever emerges in the safety of the relationship.

These sessions integrate healing modalities that have been the centre of my learning for the last 15 years from Reiki, Tarot, Yoga, Herbalism, Shamanism, and Therapy. These sessions are a specific blend and formula for energy work.

I’m trained in Reiki 1, 2, and Masters and have worked with Shamanic practices for the past 9 years, integrating and weaving herbal and plant supports into the sessions through the use of home-formulated oils and teas, plus suggestions.

The sessions are gentle and strong and can lead to subtle and powerful life changes.

What I Offer

The Bodywork session is a mix of hands-on and hands-off healing, depending on the client and energy field.

We have a conversation together about what’s occurring presently within the body.

We also look at patterns in the belief system, illnesses, and the overall presentation, including where the energy is stagnated, suppressed, or in excess.

Some sessions may include the use of the Sacred Medicine drum or other instruments, crystals, and sacred smoke.

Please notify me before a session if you don’t wish for any of these in your sessions.

What can I expect from a Bodywork session?

It’s not uncommon to feel strong sensations, emotions, or repetitive thoughts during or after a session.

Often clients will have the experience of a release and subsequent intuition emerging after this initial release and the days following.

Clients have also reported feeling the natural flow of their nervous system after a session, including feeling excessively tired or burnt out, which then shifts a week after the session to more vitality and balance.

After each session, it’s important to drink lots of water and to provide yourself space and gentleness following the session.

Journalling can also support the unravelling process and integration following a session.

Follow-up Care

It’s not uncommon to feel unsettled following on from the session and this is why we recommend 4-6 sessions for continuity of care.

Please follow up with me if you’re struggling in the days afterward and I’ll support you with a follow-up session or create a plan for ongoing support if it’s outside the scope of our contracted work.

Individual Sessions

Individual sessions - $140 per hour

Please note: I have a policy for cheaper sessions for Indigenous Australians, full-time single mothers, and those suffering from an ongoing chronic illness impacting their capacity to work.
